Our promise
Why organic, why now.
Mauritius has food labelling rules, and a national organic farming certification scheme exists, but neither is applied consistently to the word bio on a shelf. Accredited certification is a separate route, with a named certifier and an audit trail behind it, and that is the route we ask our suppliers to have taken. We think trust should not rest on a word.
So we show you the certificate instead. Where a product is certified, it carries a real mark, AB Agriculture Biologique, the EU Organic Eurofeuille, Ecocert or Demeter, and we can show you the certificate behind it. Where it is not, the shelf says so. That is the standard we are setting for the island.

What does certified organic mean in Mauritius?
Organic claims in Mauritius are policed unevenly; that is why we verify our suppliers’ certificates ourselves. Naturespan sets its own standard: every certified product we import carries a real European mark, and we show you the certificate behind it, so trust rests on proof rather than on a word.
Which organic certifications does Naturespan carry?
The marks on our shelves are AB Agriculture Biologique, the EU Organic Eurofeuille, Ecocert and Demeter. Each one is issued by an accredited certifier and can be verified, and our certifications guide explains in plain language what every mark guarantees.
Where are the Naturespan stores?
Grand Baie and Tamarin open together on October 1, 2026. The Grand Baie flagship on Twenty Foot Road includes a 100% organic cafe and restaurant. Two stores planned for 2026, two further in 2027. Our organic food truck brings Naturespan to the whole island.
Can I shop online or get home delivery?

How can I check that a product is genuinely organic?
Look for the certifier code printed next to the AB logo or the EU leaf, for example FR-BIO-01 for Ecocert France. EU organic certificates are recorded in public registries, so a claim can be confirmed in minutes, and in our stores the certificate behind any product is shown on request.
